Let's play for David.
The Ten Minute Playground is thrilled to announce that our event on March 13 & 14 will be a benefit for beloved Nashville actor David Compton.
David Compton was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2014. A few months ago, doctors found that the cancer had spread to David's liver, lung, shoulder, spine, and brain. David underwent surgery to remove the brain tumor and plans were set in place to begin radiation and a new cancer treatment. Days after returning home from the surgery, David contracted pneumonia, gall stones, and a blood infection. David is working to get back to his old self, undergoing speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy while beginning new cancer treatments.
David is a fighter and a survivor and continues to make progress, but will be unable to work while he is recovering. Unfortunately, real life does not stop for cancer and the bills continue to pile up.
Shannon Wood and Peter Kurland of the Darkhorse have donated the use of their theatre for this special event. Twelve new plays over two nights brought to you by the best and brightest in Nashville theatre and all for a great cause. Cash donations will be accepted at the door and will go directly to the David Compton Healing Fund.
If you would like to help David in his fight but are unable to attend the Playground, please make a contribution to The David Compton Healing Fund today.
